A cabin with a real sauna — the heart of Country House

If you are looking to rent a cabin with a sauna in the Almaty mountains, Country House was made for exactly that. The sauna here is not an add-on — it is the centre of the stay: after the steam room, step out into the crisp air, breathe and hear the silence of the mountains.

The sauna comes with an oak broom, individual steaming kits and our signature "blizzard effect". It runs year-round — one of the main reasons to come even in winter, when there is snow outside and heat and steam within. This is a traditional Russian banya — wood-fired, with real steam, not just a hot room.

What's included

  • Sauna with oak broom and steaming kits — year-round;
  • Summer pool — to cool off in the warm season;
  • Fire pit with BBQ, grill and firewood — any time of year;
  • Fully equipped kitchen — no need to bring anything extra;
  • Free Wi-Fi, underfloor heating and panoramic windows with mountain views.

A real sauna ritual

The sauna is wood-fired, as it should be in the mountains. First a gentle warm-up, then steaming with an oak broom and individual sets, the signature "blizzard effect", and between rounds — a step out into the crisp mountain air and herbal tea. After an evening like that you sleep deeply and wake up feeling reborn. This isn't a token sauna — it's a full ritual, and for many guests it's the main reason to come.

Wood-fired banya: temperature and how to steam

The stove is loaded from outside the steam room, so the air inside stays clean — no smoke or soot. The comfortable steaming temperature is 65–70 °C: the heat stays soft and deep, and the oak broom releases its full aroma. Start with a short 5–7 minute round without the broom, then steam, rest with herbal tea and go again. Everything for the banya is already there: brooms, felt hats, steaming kits, towels and robes — no need to bring a thing.

When to come for the sauna

The sauna runs year-round, and each season has its own mood. In winter the contrast of steam and snow is at its sharpest, and it's a joy to look out at the snowy slopes from the warm house. In summer the sauna pairs with the pool and long evenings by the fire pit. Spring and autumn bring clear air and silence without the crowds.
