Best time to
visit the mountains

Every season in the Almaty mountains is good in its own way.

In short. The Almaty mountains are great year-round. Summer (June–August) — pool, greenery, hikes. Autumn — golden orchards and mild weather. Winter — sauna, snow, skiing at Shymbulak. Spring — blossom and freshness. At Country House the sauna runs year-round; the pool is open in the warm season.

Summer — pool and hikes

June–August: warm and green, the pool is open, perfect for hikes to Kok-Zhailyau and long evenings on the terrace. The most in-demand season — book dates well ahead.

Autumn — golden orchards

September–October: mild weather, golden apple-orchard leaves, fewer people on the trails. A very beautiful, calm time for a quiet stay.

Winter — sauna and snow

December–February: snow, skiing at Shymbulak and Medeu, and a sauna you can step out of straight onto the frost. New Year is a popular time.

Spring — freshness and blossom

March–May: the snow melts, everything comes alive, the orchards bloom. A great time for walks and a reset before the summer heat.

Year-round at Country House
